2009 Illini Boy Scout Jamboree – 9/12/09
In the summer of 2009 CIRC was contacted by the organizers of the Illini Boy Scout Jamboree and invited to come share the excitement of robotics. This jamboree is one of the largest Boy Scout events with thousands of scouts, parents, and scout masters. The event was held at an airfield in Rantoul, IL. Thankfully several CIRC members volunteered to make the nearly 2 hour trip out East and some other club members who couldn’t come let us borrow their robots. A big thanks to Jim Frye from Lynxmotion who let us borrow several of his popular kits to display! We were very popular with the scouts who swarmed around the tables all day.
